Traumatologist-orthopaedist with 29-year experience. Since 1982 he has been working in Latvian Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics that was later renamed as Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics.  He specialises in endoprosthesis replacement of large joints.  Every year he performs more than 200 joint endoprosthesis replacement surgeries and their revisions.
From 1992 to 2007 he was the chief of Department of Orthopaedics of Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. Doctor of Medicine. In 1992 he defended PhD thesis about hip joint endoprosthesis replacement. Chief of scientific research laboratory of traumatology and orthopaedics of Riga Stradins University. Principal investigator, active member of Latvian Association of Traumatology and Orthopaedics, member of Hip and Knee Endoprosthesis Replacement Association, Latvian national representative in the international organisation SICOT.
He consults and treats patients suffering from degenerative diseases, injuries of large joints and their consequences.
